This violin was designed to draw on the work of Jacob Stainer. The back and ribs are made from American Maple and the belly is of quarter sawn Euroepan spruce. The fingerboard is made using the traditional process of encasing a spruce core with ebony sides and a veneer.The tailpiece is made of a sustainable material called GaiTone*
*GaiaTone materias are primarily made from 95% post-consumer paper waste combined with bio-resins. They are designed to be an eco-friendly and cost-effective alternative to traditional ebony fingerboards. The material is visually and functionally similar to ebony, with a hardness slightly higher and a density comparable to ebony.
